I'm not sure this is the same issue we were having when we first started using Cisco AnyConnect, but any of our users who were using a Lenovo Thinkpad had issues. We later determined that the Lenovo RapidBoot and Lenovo RapidBoot Accelerator applications would cause issues with the installation configuration for the AnyConnect Client. Virtual Private Network (VPN) can be used by faculty and staff to connect to Weber State's secure network from off campus. To connect, you will need to have a VPN desktop client installed on the computer you plan to use while off campus.

Feb 02, 2018 Cisco recommends you remove all Legacy AnyConnect app data, remove the Legacy AnyConnect app, and then install the new version. Before You Begin Before upgrading your device you must disconnect an AnyConnect VPN session if one is established, and close the AnyConnect application.
These steps require administrator privileges which may require you to contact your CTC or the IT Service Desk.

Windows Installation Instructions
If you are installing VPN software on your work computer, this can be done through Software Center without the need for administrator privileges. If you need assitance, please contact the IT Service Desk.
- Visit https://vpn.weber.edu
- Login with your WSU username and password.
- Follow on screen instructions to complete the install (this may require administrator credentials, contact your department's CTC or the IT Service Desk for assistance).
- After the application is successfully installed, click the Start button, then search for the Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client application.
- Once the application is open, type vpn.weber.edu in the connection bar then click Connect.
- A new Central Authentication System (CAS) window will appear asking for your WSU username and password. Enter in the required information and click Login.
- Your computer should now be connected to WSU's network services.
- When finished, disconnect by opening the Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client and click the Disconnect button.
Note: You will need to re-connect AnyConnect each time you wish to establish a new VPN session.
Mac Installation Instructions

- Once it's successfully installed, navigate to the Go menu and click on Applications and find the folder named Cisco.
- Open the Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client inside the Cisco folder.

- Your computer should now be conncted to WSU's network services.

iOS (iPhone / iPad)
VPN is not supported on all versions of iOS. A device must have Apple iOS 10.3 or later installed for Cisco AnyConnect to work.

Install Cisco Vpn Client
While using WSU's network services, users are subject to WSU's Acceptable Use Policy for Computing and Network Resources (PPM 10-2). Violation of this policy may result in a user's network access being suspended. Note that any sort of peer-to-peer (P2P) connection is strictly prohibited while on campus (Torrents, Limewire, etc.).
